Navigating Neurodivergence: Practical Strategies for Therapists 📅 Date: Monday, November 17th 🕓 Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST 📍 Location: Virtual 🎤 Facilitator: Ashley Esry, LICSW, LCSW, LCAS “Navigating Neurodivergence” is an engaging and practical training designed to help therapists deepen their understanding of neurodivergent clients and strengthen their ability to provide affirming, effective care. Participants will explore the evolving language, research, and therapeutic approaches that support neurodivergent individuals—including those with ADHD, Autism, and other cognitive differences. The training highlights strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming models that replace deficit-focused frameworks with compassion, acceptance, and empowerment. This workshop invites clinicians to: Recognize key characteristics and challenges experienced by neurodivergent clients. Differentiate between ADHD and Autism presentations, including overlapping traits. Learn adaptable, person-centered strategies that honor each client’s unique strengths. Apply practical interventions for executive functioning, motivation, and emotional regulation. Through interactive discussion, real-world examples, and evidence-based insights, attendees will leave equipped to create inclusive, affirming therapeutic spaces that nurture confidence, self-understanding, and growth. Learning Objectives: Identify key characteristics of neurodivergence and how they impact clinical presentation. Recognize the influence of masking, executive dysfunction, and sensory processing on treatment engagement.
