Deja Jackson

MSW, LCSWA

Hello, I’m Deja Jackson, a licensed therapist who has been practicing since February 2021. My therapeutic style is warm, inclusive, and empowering. I integrate person-centered, interpersonal, mindfulness-based, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches to support individuals and couples through life’s transitions, emotional challenges, and self-discovery journeys.

As a proud advocate for people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, and single mothers, I am passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and affirming space where every client feels seen, heard, and valued. My work is deeply rooted in cultural humility, intersectionality, and honoring each person's lived experience. I believe healing happens when we can show up as our full selves — without the need to shrink.

Self-care is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. That’s why I place strong emphasis on helping clients build sustainable self-care practices, learn to recognize their emotional and physical needs, and prioritize their well-being without guilt. Together, we explore how to set and maintain healthy boundaries, understand the difference between compromise and self-abandonment, and reconnect with your inner resilience.

Therapy with me is a collaborative journey. I walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity, helping you tap into your strengths while exploring new tools for growth and emotional clarity.

I’m also joined in practice by my four-legged co-therapist, Bandit, a gentle 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. Bandit has a calming presence and an uncanny ability to sense when comfort is needed most — offering warmth, grounding energy, and the occasional tail wag.

Whether you're navigating identity, managing stress, healing from trauma, or simply seeking support as you evolve — you’re welcome here.

Co-Therapist

Hello - WOOF! My name is Bandit! I've been very busy lately—between all the snuggling, tail wags, and emotional support duties, a pup’s gotta nap! I haven’t quite finished my “About Me” section yet (paws don’t type so well), but stay tuned… it’ll be worth the wait!
