Makayla Glover
MSW Intern
Hi! My name is Makayla Glover, and I’m glad you’re here.
I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I am building on academics and professional experience to deepen my skills as a therapist. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am an emerging clinician who is passionate about supporting individuals, children, and families through life’s challenges. I strive to create a safe, affirming, and respectful therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based, grounded in trauma-informed care and an ecological perspective. I believe mental health is deeply influenced by relationships, environments, and lived experiences, and I work to meet each client where they are while honoring their unique identity, story, and goals.
I am particularly interested in mental health advocacy, early intervention, and working with individuals who have experienced stress, trauma, or systemic barriers to care. I chose this work because I believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, empowering mental health support. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they build resilience, develop coping skills, and move toward healing and meaningful change.
